The OnPoint Translation Process
Our team understands the topic, its communicative effect and the target audience. They collect all the information related to the original text. This information focuses on the target readers of the translation, the writing style, any specific vocabulary and language that the translator needs to know for consistency, and other reference material. This information is transferred to a translator who is also an expert in the field.
The translator translates the document based on his understanding of the requirements. Once finished, the translator compares the original text with that of the translated version to see if content or meaning has not been lost.
Once the first draft is completed, the translator will be in charge of comparing each piece of text with the original text (source). The main goal here is to confirm that no content has been missed or any meaning is misinterpreted. The translator will also identify and improve any unnatural or inelegant writing.
The translator also checks for consistent use of terminologies specific to an industry, client, or even the target language and region.
In this step the translator reads the translation, this time without reference to the source document, looking only at the quality of the expression.
Also, a quality proofreader is assigned to proofread the text again to make sure the meaning of the text is the same as the original information and to see if the customer's requirements are met. The quality checker will provide final edits to refine and "polish" the translated text, if necessary.
The project manager reviews the final file and delivers the files to the client in the same format in which they were received. The client verifies the files if they match the quality and expression established at the beginning.
